City of Aiken Winter Weather Update

City of Aiken officials are monitoring the predicted winter weather in coordination with state and county Emergency Management offices.

At this time, City of Aiken offices will open for normal business hours on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, opening at 8:10 a.m. and closing at 5 p.m. Any scheduled meetings or activities after 5 p.m. on 1/21 will be rescheduled or cancelled.

Winter Storm Warning

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon until 9 AM EST Wednesday for portions of east-central Georgia and central South Carolina. Heavy snow is expected, with total accumulations ranging from one to three inches. Roads, particularly bridges and overpasses, are likely to become slick and hazardous, potentially affecting the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. If you must travel, exercise caution and keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. For the latest road conditions, call 511 in your state.
